Here at tReds, we love getting excited about the holiday season, and there’s nothing more exciting than watching a bunch of Christmas movies on a cold winters evening. We’ve put together a list of our Top 10 Christmas movies to watch this year. We hope you enjoy them!

  • Home Alone (1990)

Who doesn’t love Home Alone? The perfect example of how not to be a parent, Macaulay Culkin runs havoc by himself doing what he pleases. Which means eating lots of ice-cream, staying up late and playing pranks on burglars.

  • Elf (2003)

A film about one of Santa’s elves finding out the truth about his human identity and goes on an adventure spreading Christmas cheer around the world, Will Ferrell starred in what we think is the perfect Christmas movie!

  • Miracle 34th Street (1947)

If you needed any proof that Father Christmas is real, then just watch this film!

  • Polar Express (2004)

This film is filled with suspense from the beginning to end. A young boy embarks on a magical adventure to the North Pole on the Polar Express. During his adventure, he learns about friendship, bravery and the spirit of Christmas.

  • The Grinch (2000)

Who doesn’t love Christmas?!  Jim Carey stars as a nasty creature that despises all things Christmas, and plots to ruin the holidays for the village of Whoville.

  • The Muppet Christmas Carole (1992)

Who didn’t love the Muppets! This film is an adaptation of the Charles ‘Dickens’ A Christmas Carole with a added helping of comedy from the Muppets.

  • The Santa Clause (1994)

Tim Allen stars in this festive comedy about an ordinary man who must step into Santa’s shoes after an accident. This film is followed by 2 other films, The Santa Clause 2 and The Santa Clause 3 – The Escape Clause. All three films are fun for all the family!

  • The Snowman (1982)

A short animated film that tells the story of a boy whose snowman magically becomes real. This film was nominated for an Oscar!

  • The Holiday (2006)

A romantic comedy full of cheesy Christmas goodness and big Hollywood names. There’s something unbearably lovely about this festive comedy.

  • Disney A Christmas Carole (2009)

The 2009 version with Jim Carrey is the best,  This movie follows the same story as Charles ‘Dickens’ A Christmas Carole. This film is presented it in motion-capture animation, available in 2D and 3D.
